What’s New?: Pi.Bo Day 4
Paula Yoo put out the challenge to write 7 picture books in 7 days and I decided to give it a try. Oh, I how I wish I hadn’t, because the fact that I’ve got the beginnings of 10 new picture books isn’t much consolation when only one of them is actually far enough along to make me feel like I *might* be on to something. Tonight I made a page for each in Scrivener, so that *maybe* tomorrow I can hit the ground running.
Too many projects, never enough time… but I’m not throwing in the towel yet! It seems Paula isn’t too much further along than I am, so… I’m encouraged and have the (probably false) notion that – by some miracle – I’ll make up for lost time before Friday. Ha! We’ll see…

Yes, it *is* going to be hard. Staff meeting tomorrow after school. School board meeting later tomorrow night. Meetings Wednesday and Thursday. Appointment Friday. NO TIME! But… I’m still hopeful.
*****
At a picture book retreat I went to earlier in the year, we were each given a quote, selected at random, to take home with us. Mine was:
“The universe is energy that responds to expectations.”
I’ll hold onto the belief that if I keep plugging away this week, I might actually reach that “light at the end of the tunnel” – 7 (rough) drafts.
