While my sister and I spent the days recouping from the comfort of our parent’s bed, we listened away the hours enjoying nursery rhymes such   as “Misty Moisty Morning” and “Simple Simon.”  It made the time pass, and those rhymes, verses, riddles, and songs have stayed with me through the years.

Somehow I managed to save that LP and still have it hidden away in a closet in my classroom.  It’s broken now – I’m not sure exactly how it happened – but the point is this: that record and the sound of Holloway’s voice is still with me, all these many years later.

About a year ago, I tracked down a second-hand copy of the album, and, though I have yet to convert it to a CD so that I can actually *listen* to it (!), I have it safely stored at home, for the day when I am, once again, able to experience Mother Goose, Sterling Holloway style.
